Brookline Street Detour ENDS - Monday, February 8, 2010: Effective with the start of service on Monday, February 8, 2010, normal service to the Cambridgeport area will resume via Brookline Street. Service at the Fort Washington (Erie St. at Sidney St.), Cambridgeport (Brookline St. at Erie St.), and Pacific St. (Pacific St. at Landsdowne St.) stops will return to their normal locations. We thnak you for your patience during this construction detour.
There will be at least one additional street closure and detour in April/May 2010.
Sticker Deadline Extended: As of Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, all EZRide Members will have new stickers. In order to facilitate final distribution, we have extended the acceptance of 2009 black and yellow stickers through Friday, February 12, 2010. Please ask your employer or property manager for a new sticker by Feb. 12 - after this date, riders without the blue and yellow 2010 sticker may be asked to pay the cash fare for their trip. If you have questions about where to obtain your stickers, please contact us at ezride@charlesrivertma.org.
New Shuttle Buses start May 11 (5/8/09): Charles River TMA will debut its new low-floor, compressed natural gas shuttle bus fleet on Monday, May 11.
Click here to learn more about the environmental benefits of our new shuttle buses.
In addition, our riders will experience EZRide's first 100% new shuttle bus fleet. The buses will offer easy low-floor entry, faster wheelchair boarding via fold out ramp, full air conditioning for the summer, and easy to read LED destination signs on the front side and rear. We hope that you will join us on board our new fleet.
Bike Rack Guidelines for new shuttle buses (5/8/09): CRTMA is pleased to announce that its new CNG low-floor bus fleet will feature bike racks. Each bus can carry two standard bicycles. If you wish to use the bike racks, please familiarise yourself with our Bike Rack Usage Guidelines.
Final Deadline for Red Stickers: As of today (Friday, February 27, 2009), red 2008 EZRide Shuttle stickers have expired. All passengers should obtain a new black and yellow 2009 sticker from their employer, property manager, or other sponsoring institution immediately.
As some contracts were finalized this week, EZRide will allow a grace period of one week (March 2-6, 2009) where we will continue to allow the use of red stickers. This is being done to allow time for sticker distribution at some of our members. Drivers have been instructed to remind passengers using red stickers that they need to obtain a new one as soon as possible.
Starting Monday, March 9, 2009, any rider without a black and yellow 2009 pass sticker, or a valid MIT ID Card, will be required to pay the appropriate cash fare ($1.00 adults, $0.50 students/seniors). There will be no exceptions to this policy. We ask all of our passengers to help our drivers by having your pass, ID, or fare ready when boarding the shuttle. With over 1,500 daily passengers, drivers cannot

Route Change between Tech Square and Mass. Ave. Effective February 9, 2009: Starting Monday, February 9th, EZRide Shuttle has changed its route between Kendall Square and Mass. Avenue. You may view the new route map here (PDF format).
To view the entire new schedule, please click here.
The new route will shift service to Portland and Albany Streets, and eliminate service on a portion of Broadway and Windsor Street.
The new route includes the following changes:
Outbound:
- Outbound buses will depart Kendall Square via Broadway instead of Main Street.
- The current stop at 200 Technology Square will be discontinued for outbound service.
- Access to Technology Square will be from existing outbound stop at Broadway and Hampshire Street (Stop J), and from new outbound stop on Portland Street (Stop K).
- The new outbound stop on Portland Street (Stop K) is located opposite 600 Tech Square
- A new outbound stop (Stop L) will be added at the intersection of Portland and Albany Streets, serving Shire HGT and MIT.
Service from Mass Ave to the end of the route remains the same.
Inbound:
Service proceeds on Mass Avenue to Albany Street, instead of turning on Windsor Street;
- A new inbound stop (Stop L) on Albany Street at Portland Street.
- The stop at 200 Tech Square (Stop K) will become an inbound stop.
- The inbound Broadway at Hampshire Street (Stop J) will be moved to the Tech Square driveway outside Draper Laboratory (555 Tech Square).
Discontinued Service
The stops at 205/210 Broadway and 119 Windsor Street will be discontinued after February 6, 2009.
The closest stop for passengers on Broadway will be Stop J, located at Broadway and Hampshire Street for outbound, and located at 555 Technology Square driveway for inbound.
The closest stop for passengers on Windsor Street will likely be Stop K, located on Portland Street at Washington Street for outbound, and located at 200 Technology Square driveway for inbound; or the Stop M, Landsdowne Street at Mass Ave.
Board at Designated Stops Only (2/3/2009): Per the instructions of the Cambridge License Commission, EZRide Shuttle drivers cannot board or discharge passengers outside of the designated stop areas. Effective immediately, Charles River TMA and Paul Revere Transportation will step up enforcement of this policy. Passengers are asked not to approach buses that are stopped in traffic outside of stops, and to only board at designated stop locations.
Boarding passengers outside of bus stops creates unsafe situations for both passengers and other motorists and cyclists. Established bus stops ensure that buses do not make unexpected stops while in traffic, and also discourage passengers from walking into traffic to reach buses. We ask for your cooperation and understanding to help ensure a safe shuttle operation for passengers and the general public alike.
Shuttle Phone Number Change (Updated 10/22/08): Both EZRide Information and Message phone numbers are now active at all times. EZRide can be reached at 617-8EZ-INFO (617-839-4636) or at 617-517-9740.
