EZRIDE SERVICE UPDATES

Any changes to EZRide operation will be posted on the shuttle message line (617-8EZ-INFO or 617-839-4636) first.

An Advisory to Lechmere Passengers:  Due to the capacity issues outlined below, outbound morning buses cannot always take on passengers at the Lechmere stop.  This is most often the case between 8:15 and 9:00 AM.  For outbound service, you may wish to walk to the First Street Stop (First and Charles Streets) and pick up the bus at this location, as there are often exiting passengers who free up space at this stop. Capacity Advisory (11/22/06): EZRide shuttles are now frequently full during both morning and evening commutes. The most crowded outbound shuttles are those that depart North Station between 7:50 and 8:50 am. The most crowded evening shuttles are those departing Kendall Square for North Station between 4:36 and 5:26 pm. 

If you can adjust your commute to a trip outside these peak hours, you will both find more room for your trip on EZRide, and free space for riders who do not have schedule flexibility during the peak.

We ask for your patience and understanding, and thank all of our riders for their cooperation on crowded shuttle trips. We appreciate all our riders who help maintain an orderly line at North Station while waiting for shuttles, which helps ensure that those who have been waiting longest have first access to arriving shuttles. 

Maximum capacity under Massachusetts law for an EZRide shuttle is 32 passengers per bus. Drivers have been instructed to observe this law. If asked to wait for the next bus due to lack of capacity, we urge you comply civilly with the driver's request, and assist the drivers in doing their job.

Tech Square Stop Relocation 04/10/06: Effective Monday, April 10, 2006, all outbound EZRide service will operate from a relocated Tech Square stop behind Building 400. Due to construction, we must close the existing stop by building 200 and relocate service behind building 400. We expect this detour to be in place through the end of 2006.

Update April 2007: The current stop location will remain until further notice. In addition, we will allow outbound passengers to be dropped off at the corner of Portland and Main Streets at this time.
